About This Site
In a Nutshell...

CharterBusRentals.org is the Bus Owner Consumer Advocacy Council's (BOCAC) sponsored directory site of bus companies that belong to at least one bus association, designed to help you, the customer, more easily find established, reputable, bus-owning companies in your service need area.

Using this directory helps you identify which bus companies belong to bus associations. Bus association membership is evidence of higher involvement in the industry and is one of the top ways of determining if a company is reputable.

Top 5 Ways of Assessing a Bus Company

  1. Recommendation from an unbiased customer that has used the company.
  2. Viewing the company's DOT safety record. (http://www.safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/CompanySnapshot.aspx)
  3. Viewing the bus associations and organizations the bus company is members of.
  4. Visiting or viewing pictures of the facility and buses before travel.
  5. Assessing the company's selling points from their sales pitch.

The Need for This Site

This site was built to help provide customers with an unbiased resource for identifying reputable bus companies. Search engines often provide a confusing mix of broker and network services that don't disclose the nature of, and hidden costs associated with their service. This site helps identify credible operating companies, local tour operators and other services that have been accepted into one of the many bus associations across the US and Canada.

Creating Awareness

Currently, many customers are unwittingly paying rates 25% to 100% above the going rate through national internet brokers and "networks". Most customers don't realize resellers have a natural incentive to choose a low-priced provider over a high quality provider. They also have an incentive to forgo time-consuming research on the companies they subcontract to. We don't want to discourage customers from using these resellers, but we want to help customers be aware of how they really work.

Our Mission

  • To help customers identify reputable bus companies.
  • To encourage bus companies to become more involved in their industry and join a bus association.
